The countdown to Mother’s Day begins! My mom inspires me in so many ways and I am extremely grateful for the close relationship we have with each other. Although we don’t live in the same state, we talk almost every day. Thank goodness for FaceTime! She is seriously my number one fan and she has supported me unconditionally since day one. I know without my mom’s prayers, support and love, I would not be person I am today.
There are so many reasons why I admire my mom. Looking back on my childhood, I saw her work 3 jobs, and she managed to cook every single day, kept the house clean, and still found time to shop and look stylish on her days off. Her taste in clothes is amazing and to this day, I still ask her for style advice.
I decided to have my mom pick out my outfit for this shoot and she chose this dress from New York & Company because she said it’s feminine, springy and the color is beautiful. I’m pretty happy about her choice because the silhouette is extremely flattering and I can’t get over the long slit! I can always count on NY&CO to give me the perfect length for maxi dresses. I can’t believe I’m wearing flat sandals with this dress and it was still the perfect length! Easy and pretty dresses like this are kinda what I live for during this time of year.
I chose this location because two weeks ago this is where we celebrated my mom’s 50th birthday when she came to visit with my dad! All my siblings live in Seattle, so we decided to surprise her by having everyone meet at Malibu Farm. She thought it would just be us on her big day, but the look on her face was so priceless when she saw everyone waiting to greet her as we walk towards the location!
Of course, no Mother’s Day celebration is complete without a Mother’s Day gift. My mom has always been fond of handbags and it was only right to add a new everyday Spring bag to her collection. I chose this particular handbag because it’s enough to fit all of the essentials, it’s lightweight and goes well with almost everything.
How are you spending Mother’s Day this year? Hope you have an amazing weekend 🙂
