Real talk: I absolutely love summer especially because of the fact that I don’t have to apply as much products to keep my skin looking fresh and healthy. However, since fall and winter is on the way, I have to start protecting my skin from the dropping temps. That’s why I teamed up with L’Occitane to try their shea butter collection. Just like we update our clothes for the cooler seasons, I believe that it’s important to do the same with your skin-care routine. Not only will this regimen hydrate your skin, but it’ll create a solid base for your makeup up as well.
The very first step in my routine is to remove my makeup. Then I like to clean my face with a cleanser that doesn’t dry my skin. I chose the L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil for myself because I have dry skin in some areas and I’m pretty oily around the T-zone. Enriched with a fabulous ingredient like nourishing shea oil, it comes together not only get all of the dirt and leftover makeup off your face, but preserves the skin’s natural hydration. I was a little skeptical When I first saw the word oil, mainly because the ones I’ve tried in the past really did make my face oily. I absolutely love this one because it’s super gentle, non-greasy and leaves my skin moisturized without leaving it feeling tight.
The next and most important step is to moisturize. In the past, I’ve always had one moisturizer that I used for both day and night, but I wanted to see the difference with using a night time moisturizer so I started using the Shea Butter Ultra Rich Comforting Cream. This is a great transitional season moisturizer because it is extremely hydrating with 25% of high concentration of shea butter. The consistency is unlike cream moisturizers that I’m used to, it is creamy and has a melting texture. A little goes a long way and it moisturizers your skin without it feeling thick or heavy. This makes my skin incredibly supple and I haven’t seen any flaky dead skin since using it! Definitely perfect for very dry skin types.
During the day, I’ve been using the Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream which is much lighter, equally as hydrating and provides a nice base for makeup. It’s a great option for normal to combination skin. It has a fresh, light powdery smell. This is legitimately one of my favorite moisturizers because I can wear it ALL DAY LONG without it making my face oily after several hours. It’s the perfect balance of being light and super moisturizing.
I hope you guys enjoyed my updated fall/winter routine! It’s pretty straightforward and budget friendly. I am currently using these 3 products on the daily and the boyfriend even jumped on this super simple regiment! No complaints so far
