Happy Friday, everyone! I hope this week has been going well. I teamed up with EXPRESS to share how I stay inspired!
As you may know, I moved to Los Angeles in February 2015. I moved here on my own to do acting and modeling full time. My blog started off as a hobby to share my personal style and so I can always have something to work on, especially on my days off. I honestly have never thought of starting a blog to become famous, to get attention, or get rich. I’ve always loved being in front of the camera, and to me, it was more like doing a photo-shoot and sharing my passion on the internet while helping and inspiring others.
Although blogging is fun and being your own boss is the best thing ever, it’s a lot of hard work. Blogging has really pushed me to explore my creativity, taught me the concept of balancing life and work, and be more discipline. I’ve never thought in a million years that this would ever be one of my careers. There were actually times when I felt like giving up because it got too overwhelming and sometimes I didn’t feel inspired.
On rare occasions, especially when I am overloaded with work, I still feel overwhelmed and feel like I can’t think of concepts to shoot and create content. I learned to take a day off and spend the day doing things that make me feel at ease and relaxed. If you are following me on Instagram, then you know how much I love coffee and going to cafes. It’s one of the many things I enjoy. It’s the times I get to spend quality time with my boyfriend and have intimate conversations. Even on my days off, you will almost always find me in skirts. They are my favorite article of clothing! I paired this denim skirt with a bodysuit because it’s so comfortable and effortlessly cute! I love the fact that you don’t have to worry about your top tucking in. Perfect for exploring and being out and about.
Besides grabbing coffee or doing activities on the weekends, to stay inspired I always go back to thinking about my first gig, my first brand collaboration and how this was all just a dream to begin with. I’m so lucky and blessed to be able to do the things that I absolutely love. I encourage those who are chasing after a dream to go for it, and never give up even when it gets hard (and it will). I believe that things get tough so you can be pushed out of your comfort zone, and when that happens- growth and strength takes place.
I’d love to hear from you: How do you stay inspired? Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
